The adventure began back in 1860, when Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie inaugurated the Jardin d’Acclimatation – 15 hectares of land at the edge of the Bois de Boulogne that hosted a variety of botanical and zoological species from around the world.
Today, the Jardin (Garden) is a place for recreation, where people come to stroll with their families and have fun. The little train, a number of playgrounds and other activities make the Jardin a perfect place for young and old alike to relax together.
This Paris Jardin also hosts many professional conferences as well as concerts, sporting events and even outdoor cinemas.
But before you set off for the Jardin, you should stop off for a nice meal. Here are two French restaurants in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, just near the main centers of attraction.
|LA GRANDE CASCADE
Located near the Jardin d’Acclimatation, the Grande Cascade is a Michelin-starred restaurant renowned for its gastronomic cuisine. It uses refined products such as truffles to offer the very best French cuisine in an elegant atmosphere. In winter, the exceptional setting of the dining room is ideal for both romantic dinners and business lunches. In summer, you can enjoy time away from the Paris bustle on the terrace. Note: like the Jardin, the Grande Cascade restaurant opens on Sundays.
